Research Interests

  • Social and emotional development and academic functioning in middle childhood and early adolescence. Social and cultural influences on children's development, including peer relationships, social-cognitive processes, family and classroom processes, poverty, and racial/ethnic diversity. School-based prevention programming and social and educational policies directed at children's social, emotional and academic functioning in the context of poverty and racial/ethnic diversity.
